Description:

Housed in a former Atlantic Coastline Railroad station, the facility’s major focus is the 1864 “Battle of Plymouth,” the second largest Civil War battle fought in North Carolina and the last Confederate victory. Located on the downtown waterfront, other nearby historic locations include the Roanoke River Lighthouse and Maritime Museum. The museum displays artifacts from the battle, including bullets, buckles, buttons, cannon balls, photographs and a replica of the CSS Ram Albemarle.
